Exit No7 (2003)
"With grotesquely contorted, machine-like dance movements, the performers challenge everyday conventions that have become hollow. The performers speak textual fragments into the microphone with an uncompromising and vehement bodily intensity, as they unmask absurdities concerning sexuality as a commodity and descriptions of the body - unsettlingly comical."
Stuttgarter Zeitung
In "ExitNo7" elements of multimedia, art, and performances are brought together in a weeklong festival. Seven days, seven performances, seven exhibitions: "ExitNo7" becomes a cumulative study of death and transience, offering constantly new perceptions of the theme.
For both performance and exhibition Fabian Chyle works with deconstructing movement, sound, image, and text - not for the sake of deconstruction but for the construction of new perspectives. Because the exhibition space is also the performance space, the unusual interaction between performance and installation offers new perceptions of art.
"ExitNo7" integrates static images, the process of performance and the dramaturgy of the theatre in this 7-day spectacle.
